mood: boggled
music: frou frou - breathe

(sorry this post is so incredibly scatterbrained...i will strive for my usual high standard of elequence and wit henceforth)

so i guess this has become my travel blog. oh my, that's crazy.

well last night i had my official pre-trip freak out/break down. i just got so overwhelmed with the last minute ends that i needed to tie up (not to mention one of my friends was being a complete asshole). so i called and cried to mother ... "blah, blah, blah, i can't do this. i just want to jump on a train and come home." ah, to be coddled and pittied for my immense pain and insecurity for the rest of the summer.

after speaking to several of my cohorts who are either on study abroad programs or who have recently returned from them, this is perfectly normal. much to my delight, i am not a complete and total freak of nature: oh, boo, i get to go live out one of your dreams while still in college...my life sucks.

in any event, the gravity of this has just begun to set in. saying goodbyes, finishing packing. i'm actually doing this. it's not joke any more. no longer a passing whim...

and suddenly i realize that i've never been more thankful to be alive.
