mood: thoughtful
music: gary jules - mad world (donnie darko soundtrack)
okay let me get these things out of the way:
JiP: "Sam, I'm in the mood..." (and then he just stops)
JiP: "Hey, is this popcorn home made?"
Mark: "Yeah, they grew the corn themselves. Didn't you see the corn tree outside?"
Mrs. Farmer: "I'll tell you what he said, he told me to forcibly place the lifeline book in my anus!" - Donnie Darko
funny stuff. anyway, i've been going crazy with all these lyrics lately. i've just been listening to a ton of great stuff - mostly all the brilliance of the royal tenenbaum's soundtrack - and i just love to post the lyrics. not necessarily because i feel like i'm doing the world a favor by placing them here for other's to read - as i am pretty sure most of you skip over them and only read the actual posts - but simply because that's what i like to do. so i was thinking about making a separate blog just for me to put up songs. on a totally separate note, i was thinking i needed a place where i could just put up all of our crazy ass quotes. so maybe that could be in the same place. just a thought. let me know what you guys think...
if you haven't heard, we're having a gathering at sammie meister's house tomorrow - or rather, this evening, at 7:30. a celebration of molly. hot diggity dogs provided by the meyerinks. if you want anything else, go ahead and bring it. also bring you favorite drinks, but keep the alcoholic ones in the trunk till later in the night. wink wink.
watched donnie darko with mayor daub tonight. good stuff. really gets your mind going. one might even say it causes you to break a "mental sweat..."
p.s. i cannot tell you how much the royal tenenbaums soundtrack fukcing rocks. if you don't listen to it, you will die never having truly lived...
but for the sake of continuity, i leave the aforementioned gary jules song.
all around me are familiar faces
worn out faces
worn out faces
bright and early for the daily races
going nowhere
going nowhere
their tears are filling up their glasses
no expression
no expression
hide my head, i want to drown my sorrow
no tomorrow
no tomorrow
and i find kind of funny
i find it kind of sad
these dreams in which i'm dying
are the best i've ever had
i find it hard to tell you
i find it hard to take
when people run in circles it's a very very
mad world
mad world
children waiting for the day they feel good
happy birthday
happy birthday
and they feel the way that every child should
sit and listen
sit and listen
went to school and i was very nervous
no one knew me
no one knew me
hello teacher, tell me what's my lesson
look right through me
look right through me
and i find it kind of funny
i find it kind of sad
these dreams in which i'm dying
are the best i've ever had
i find it hard to tell you
i find it hard to take
when people run in circles it's a very very
mad world
mad world...
that is all...thank you.

music: paul simon - me and julio down by the schoolyard
sorry bout that last post, i just had to get my problems with usher out there...
things are looking up. i received a call from gallup today and i have a phone intereview. if i got the job i'd be taking care of the kids in their daycare program. don't worry, molly, i'll only kick them one day a week. i'd say that's more than fair.
quintin, laurence, ryan. anita and i are going back to mazatlan. and you boys are coming with us. you just don't understand how necessary this is for us to do. oh but you will once we get down there. anita and i really want to go for 3 weeks, but the closest time we could do that would be next summer. we don't want to wait that long. so we're thinking that we could take advantage of the last two weeks of christmas break. we could party together on new year's, take a day to sober up, fly out of chicago on Jan 3 and come back on the 17th since classes don't start until the 18th. if we really want to do this, then we have to get on it. we don't have to put in for the timeshare until 30 days beforehand, but we'll need to go ahead and get plane tickets so that they don't get too expensive. right now they're $562.66, but we should keep an eye on them. though to be quite honest, i'm gonna need to holler at some of my grandma's 37,000 frequent flier miles. so clear your calendars and start saving hardcore. *look out world! the negros are going internationale!*
back to O town. so we must surely engage in some quality shenanigans this weekend. ms molly is off to play navy next week and i know i won't get to see to see her again, because the week that she gets back, i will be staffing Anytown down in the middle of nowhere and by the time i get back, she'll be gone to uiuc pretending to welcome in the new freshman. soooo kids, it's time to live it up something fierce. oh man, i can't wait to get mayor daub drunk again - he's the mutha fuckin greatest! w00t! (speaking of drunk garret, what was up with KC? i need to know what happened on the trip!)
again ... a song.
the mama pyjama rolled outta bed
and she ran to the police station
when the papa found out, he began to shout
and he started the investigation
it's against the law
it was against the law
what the mama saw
it was against the law
the mama looked down and spit on the ground
every time my name gets mentioned
the papa said "oy, if i ever get that boy
i'm gonna stick him in the house of detention"
well i'm on my way
i don't know where i'm goin
i'm on my way
i'm takin my time, but i don't know where
goodbye to rosie, the queen of corona
see me and julio down by the schoolyard
see me and julio down by the schoolyard
in a couple of days they come and take me away
but the press lets the story leak
now when the radical priest come to get me released
we's all on the cover of newsweek
and i'm on my way
i don't know where i'm goin
i'm on my way
i'm takin my time and i don't know where
goodbye to rosie, queen of corona
see me and julio down by the schoolyard

music: usher- confessions
okay kids, $5 goes to the first person to make usher's lyrics make sense. we will examine two cases today. the first is the song "confessions pt 2" wherein our boy gets his mistress pregnant and has to tell his girlfriend. here we go:
take these first lyrics:
every time i was in l.a. i was with my ex girlfriend
everytime you called, i told you "baby, i'm workin"
i was out doin my dirt
wasn't thinkin bout you gettin hurt...
but then later on he says:
this is by far the hardest thing i've ever done
to have to tell you, the woman i love
that i'm havin a baby by a woman i barely even know...
wait a minute, i thought he said he was with his ex girlfriend?
case 2. "burn"
it's gonna burn for me to say this
it's coming from my heart
it's been a long time comin
but we done been fell apart
i really wanna work this out
but i don't think you're gonna change
i do, but you dont, think it's best we go our separate ways
tell me why i should stay in this relationship
when i'm hurtin baby
i ain't happy baby
plus, there's so many other things i gotta do and
i think that you should let it burn...
so this song is all about telling the girl that they have to break up even though she doesn't want to, right? so then why does he say:
she's been gone for too long
it's been 50-leven days
umpteen hours
i'ma be burnin till you return...
right. so there you are. ahem.
dear usher,
in the future, BEFORE you release a cd, it would behoove you to proofread your lyrics with special regard to conherence. i know that you are hot and/or sexy and extremely wealthy, but (contrary to popular belief) this in fact does NOT excuse you from adhering to the existing rules of grammatical format.
thank you.
sincerely,

music: elliott smith - needle in the hay
ever get the feeling that you've found yourself immersed in the same old bs, just in a different time? i don't know precisely how to explain it, but i'll do the best i can.
i've been thinking quite a bit lately. about friendships. about what it is that i am willing to contribute to them and what it is that i generally expect to get out of them. and i've been weighing that against reality: what i do contribute to my friendships and what i actually get out of them. i don't really see the two aligning in the way i would have liked them to. and i think i've pinpointed the reason why. i think the problem is that i am most unclear on where i stand in these friendships. are we actually friends, or mere acquaintances? is it unconditional friendship, or the kind with prerequisites? is it full time friendship, or whenever is convenient? i truly don't know. i truly wish i did. because i tend to get this inkling that what i think is not the same as what the other party/parties think(s).
you know, there was a time when i might have said that i had a "best friend" so to speak, but i don't believe that holds true any more. and while labeling someone "alpha friend" isn't the point here, i would be remiss if i didn't admit that it would have been nice to have one. because that is the norm, is what most people can do. to be perfectly honest, i have often felt as if i was fighting to be a friend, to have a friend. i would guess this just comes from the fact that people have extensive histories with each other; people grew up together - and i only entered into this crazy mix during freshman year of high school. which is not to say that my friends are "bad" or that i don't like and appreciate them - i don't intend to imply that at all. i just wish that i could gain a clear view of how people are feeling about me with regards to our respective relationships. i long for clarity. at this point i'm not particularly sure if this arises from the fact that actions don't always reflect words and trigger my suspicions or if my perception is just a touch off. if any of you (who probably know you who are at this juncture) wanted to talk, chance are, you know where to find me...
against my better judgment, i'll leave a song.
your hand on his arm
the haystack charm around your neck
strung out and thin
calling some friend trying to cash some check
he's acting dumb
that's what you've come to expect
needle in the hay
needle in the hay
needle in the hay
needle in the hay
he's wearing your clothes
head down to toes a reaction to you
you say you know what he did
but you idiot kid
you don't have a clue
sometimes they just get caught in the eye
you're pulling him through
needle in the hay
needle in the hay
needle in the hay
needle in the hay
now on the bus
nearly touching this dirty retreat
falling out 6th and powell
a dead sweat in my teeth
gonna walk walk walk
four more blocks plus the one in my brain
down downstairs down to the man
he's gonna make it all okay
i can't beat myself
i can't beat myself
and i don't want to talk
i'm taking the cure so i can be quiet whenever i want
so leave me alone
you outta be proud that i'm getting good marks
needle in the hay
needle in the hay
needle in the hay
needle in the hay...

music: tears for fears - everybody wants to rule the world
there's just something about this song...
welcome to your life
there's no turning back
even while you sleep
we will find you
acting on your best behaviour
turn your back on mother nature
everybody wants to rule the world
it's my own design
it's my own remorse
help me to decdide
help me make the most
of freedom
and of pleasure
nothing ever lasts forever
everbody wants to rule the world
there's a room where the light won't find you
holding hands while the walls come tumbling down
when they do i'll be right behind you
so glad we've almost made it
so sad they had to fade it
everybody wants to rule the world
i can't stand this indecision
married with a lack of vision
everybody wants to rule the world
say that you'll never never never need it
one headline
why believe it?
everybody wants to rule the world
all for freedom
and for pleasure
nothing ever lasts forever
everybody wants to rule the world...

yawn.
getting a touch of the old cabin fever. aside from my failed attempt to go see a sneak preview of fahrenheit 9/11 with mayor daub, there have been no outings. at least none which i have been informed of. are you guys still alive? i guess it's just strange because i'm used to going out all the time - courtesy of the night life (and day life really) in mazatlan. i'm just not used to sitting in the house all day. it would be helpful if i could find a job. still no luck in that forum. but let's not go there...in any event, you (who know who you are) should drop me a line to do something. besides, i'm anxious for us all to get some use out of your presents...
in other news. i've been talking to quintin and laurence lately, and i just have to say that i am so glad that the drama is far away from me. sorry boys, but i just couldn't handle all that. i said i was done with drama after high school and i was SO serious. but in the interest of a good laugh, remind me to tell you about the adventures of Ed vs. Thulani...
i think i want to pick up my french again. can't decide if i should make it a major or a minor. i think eventually i'd like to teach it in a camp for kids, or a center for underprivileged children or something of that nature - the same kind of thing i want to do with my future Ph.d in theatre. but would i have to get certified to do that with the french as well? don't know.
i think a little night drive is in order...until next time...
that is all...thank you.

mood: anxious to get out and see people
music: red hot chilli peppers - by the way
holla holla!
i'm back in the big O! mexico was amazing. i had such a great time. let me try and loosely ramble through a few things:
everyone thinks of mexico as this wasteland where its all desert and poor people, but it wasn't like that at all. we stayed in this beautiful resort right on the beach and it was amazing. everything and everyone seemed so beautiful down there. i tried to get it all on film, but there's really just too much beauty to put into a camera. plus, we totally missed out on taking pics with the hot people we spent most of our time with. i know, i know, i suck. i'm sorry.
a typical day involved sleeping in until noon or so, watching some jeopardy or invader zim in spanish, lounging on the beach, picking up a few things downtown at the market, lounging on the beach, eating lunch, lounging on the beach, watching the sun set, fancy dinner, lounging on the beach, watching the moon set (so weird), lounging on the beach, heading out to our favorite bar, Jungle Juice where all the men loved us and we loved them back (oh Romero), a drunken stumble home, flirting with Hector (the hot guy who worked at the hotel), and a couple Mexican infomercials before bed. not too shabby if i do say so myself.
we also met some pretty great people. there were a couple of brothers and sisters that were really great. we spent a lot of time playing pool volleyball with them. we also met this group of guys from california who were soooo incredibly hot and we thought they were cool, but 3 of them turned out to be crazy, but that was okay because they bought us a TON of drinks. but we mainly hung out with this girl from washington and another girl from LA.
i would say that we weren't too scandalous while we were down. i will say that i grew tired of getting whistled at on the street and heavily hit on by old drunk men. i didn't drink too much, but definitley sampled some of the favorites. let's just say they put a lot more liquor in their mixed drinks down there then they do in the states. um, i did get a little something on my ankle and a little something somewhere else...i'm sure you'll find out about that later. one night we got pretty saucy down at jungle juice. i know you'll hear me talk about romero a ton. he was one of the waiters there. he was so hot and sexy. plus he was latin, which should suggest some things about his amazing dancing ability. i couldn't help myself. when guys down there are hot...they are reallllllllllllly hot!
but mostly i think i'll keep our naughtiness under wraps. if you really want to know, you can always ask.
i'll try to sum up some other things i realized while down in mazatlan:
1. mexican men LOVE american women and are very forward about it.
2. american men in mexico tend to be crazy.
3. when being harassed by drunk men in a bar/club, make sure the
people you're with won't tell the drunk men that you really
like them.
4. if a man tries to talk to you, make sure he buys you a drink.
consider it a reward for you putting up with them.
5. hot and sexy latin men named ramero dance really well.
6. pina coladas, strawberry daquiris, poppers, and tequillas are
always a good idea.
7. shaving your legs before the ocean is not.
8. ocean water burns like whoa.
9. beware the excess chilli peppers.
let's just say i had a REALLY REALLY good time. and we made some friends that should come in handy when we go back. wink wink.
i can't wait to see all of my big O people again. i got us all a little something special that i think we'll make good use of. you know what i mean. yeah you do. biatches.
that is all...thank you.

i would say that we weren't too scandalous while we were down. i will say that i grew tired of getting whistled at on the street and heavily hit on by old drunk men. i didn't drink too much, but definitley sampled some of the favorites. let's just say they put a lot more liquor in their mixed drinks down there then they do in the states. um, i did get a little something on my ankle and a little something somewhere else...i'm sure you'll find out about that later. one night we got pretty saucy down at jungle juice. i know you'll hear me talk about romero a ton. he was one of the waiters there. he was so hot and sexy. plus he was latin, which should suggest some things about his amazing dancing ability. i couldn't help myself. when guys down there are hot...they are reallllllllllllly hot!
but mostly i think i'll keep our naughtiness under wraps. if you really want to know, you can always ask.
i'll try to sum up some other things i realized while down in mazatlan:
1. mexican men LOVE american women and are very forward about it.
2. american men in mexico tend to be crazy.
3. when being harassed by drunk men in a bar/club, make sure the
people you're with won't tell the drunk men that you really
like them.
4. if a man tries to talk to you, make sure he buys you a drink.
consider it a reward for you putting up with them.
5. hot and sexy latin men named ramero dance really well.
6. pina coladas, strawberry daquiris, poppers, and tequillas are
always a good idea.
7. shaving your legs before the ocean is not.
8. ocean water burns like whoa.
9. beware the excess chilli peppers.
let's just say i had a REALLY REALLY good time. and we made some friends that should come in handy when we go back. wink wink.
i can't wait to see all of my big O people again. i got us all a little something special that i think we'll make good use of. you know what i mean. yeah you do. biatches.
that is all...thank you.

mood: quietly exploding, silently pumped!
music: jimmy eat world - bleed american
oh my.
i don't even know what to feel right now. the trip to mexico is officially ON. i leave tomorrow for chi town to spend the night with anita and then it's on to mazatlan on sunday for a full week of R&R at her condo on the beach. so i will miss you all dearly. have fun, but not too much of the illegal variety. i'll be back on tuesday, the 22nd.
pause...breathe...it's true...it's real.
soon i actually WILL take a moment and pause. just a quick moment - a breath really. quite brief. quite fleeting. an inward glance to review and realize everyone and everything that has brought me to this point. that's what one does, isn't it? yes, that's what one does when one is on the verge of realizing that they're in the midst of some of the best moments of their lives. when i was younger (7 or 8) and my brother was in college, i always promised myself that these - my collegiate years (NOT my high school years) - would be the best of my life. or at least the start of them. i'd say God's letting me make good on that promise.
i still don't know if this has registered yet. you're probably wondering why i make such a grandiose deal out of this. well, it's simply because things like this just don't happen to me. THEY JUST DON'T. this is not the norm. things like excess money, jetsetting, and last week trips out of the country are not in my vocabulary. well, they weren't. though i live in the same area of town with you who wouldn't raise an eyebrow to this, i operate in a totally different stratosphere financially. i've never known a life where someone can call you on a monday and then you drop nearly $800 for 2 tickets and that saturday you're on your way. and once in a while a small voice whispers that this isn't right, this isn't you, this isn't your life to live. this just isn't the life you were born into. but it is. it absolutely is. and if i don't start living it now, then i don't know just when i will. you know, it's so strange, so uncomfortable, so debilitating - my fear of fun...
but isn't life about overcoming your fears?
that is all...thank you.

mood: excited, apprehensive
music: usher - confessions
so many emotions.
ray charles died today. i have this overwhelming sense that we're losing a generation of really remarkable men and women. and that the current generations (including ours) is doing a craptacular job of filling their shoes.
the boys are coming in tonight. it seems somewhat strange that i'm going to see them again so soon. but that's cool, i love those guys. they're good people. and i intend to make adam my new best friend. what can i say? i have an affinity for people that appreciate good art. we connected on the use of "Boo-Urns" and his rendition of Picasso's Old Guitarist. If those aren't grounds to be best friends then what is?
so about my trip to mexico. i can get a ticket from here to chi town using my grandmother's frequent flyer miles. and my aunt has given me her credit card number to pay for the chicago to mazatlan leg of the trip. so basically i can go if i want. but suddenly i am so very scared. i have never believed in my life that something like this could happen to me. it just never had. and i thought it never would. but here i am with the chance of my life staring me in the face and i am perhaps to scared to even take it. which leads me to be even more afraid that if i don't do this, i will never take any great opportunity that comes my way. i have never considered myself a cowardly person, but...
that is all..thank you.

mood: very very poor, stressed
music: travis - the invisible band
bah.
as for day three, that was the trip home. most of it is fuzzy because we slept so much. lots of dead dear, the cow game, and a mysterious party foul at a gas station conveniently located in the middle of nowhere is all i really remember. we stashed kk at her job exactly 4 minutes early. you're welcome, fucking playhouse. i don't know what everyone else did on sunday. but i slept and watched the tonys. we were supposed to hit up the surf side shrimp feed, but no one called me. so there you are.
what a great trip. and i've been talking to adam and brian and there may be more shenanigans to come. and sooner than you might think.
but back to real life.
these last couple of days have been bad. breakdowns and the whatnot. i'm just dangerously overstressed about some things that are going on in my life right now. plus, wells fargo fucked up my checking account like usual and that is always stressful. i really need to find a way to just relax. that trip to mexico would have been nice. i've kind of given up on that as of now. cool things like that just don't ever happen to me.
i need to go lay down or something.
that is all...thank you.

furhoofle.
yesterday was a little bit crazy. my girl, anita, (from loyola) called me and when i saw it was her on the phone i didn't answer b/c i was watching american pie 2 and i figured she'd want to talk for a while and catch up. i just thought she'd leave a message and i'd check it, see what she wanted and give her a call a little later. oh, she left a message alright. apparently her family has a condo down in mexico. they're leaving on sunday to go down there and did i want to come along? holy shit. i've never been outside of the country before (even though i lived in texas for SO long) and this would be the perfect opportunity to do so. only i don't have a passport and i don't have $500 for the plane ticket. so i called her and found out you don't need a passport and she might be able to foot the bill for my ticket. but i'd probably have to find a way to get to chicago. anybody up for a roadtrip? i really really really want to go. i'll just keep my fingers crossed. you keep yours crossed, too.
somewhere in all of that, sam, kk, garret, and molly called to invite me to the flat iron grill. i was like, "sure" and so i went. holy expensive. they said it was like $10. funny story about how my bill was $19. and i didn't even get any of the special stuff. so annoying. i really didn't have the money to spend on that. but whatev. our waiter went to millard north and flirted with us like whoa. but i'm pretty sure he would throw darts at kk's head if given the chance.
cut to drinking at sam's house. a trip to 42nd and center (moooooovie game) a little vodka and some hawaiian punch will do wonders for your personality. i've been sworn not to divulge the specifics of who said what, but let me tell you, a lot was said. holy drunk.
and now, day 2 of minneapolis.
i think we were supposed to get up at 9. somehow we didn't leave the apartment until noonish. after a quick stop at lund's to pick up wayne's wild rice and to take a picture by the famous and disappointing egg display, we headed out to the mall of america. first thing we did was find some food. the combination of long john silver's, a&w, and johnny rocket's was sure to catch up with us later. you know what i mean. after a few stops along our fucking 2 hour search for a victoria's secret that actually exists me and molly did some more shopping and chang, kk, and sam headed out to camp snoopy. they built a lego castle. badass. molly and i spent so much money and killed our legs. all totaled, the group spent $600 and 5 hours walking. i went into abercrombie and fitch. don't worry, i still hate that store like whoa. bitches. the shoe stores were a little disappointing. steve madden let me down a little bit. aldo had a lot of cute stuff, but they just weren't what i was looking for at the time. so instead i bought 2 purses, 2 skirts, some perfume and some other stuff. molly bought some hussie clothes. you know the kind she likes. chang used his asian powers to deceive us, but we overcame him and met up with everybody to go home at around 6. the mall of america is nice, but too fucking big. let this be a lesson to us all.
we went back to the apartment and chilled for a while before our dinner reservations at bucca downtown. holy craziness. we were supposed to be there at 8:30. we girls didn't start to get ready until like 8:00. bad idea. very bad. also, i forgot to mention that chang doesn't know how to get anywhere in minneapolis even though he lives there. so every time we went somewhere, he used his magical asian powers to get us lost. we were the second group of 3 in our party to get there. we find out that the boys are having car trouble so they will be 15 MORE minutes late. then i thought i was gonna have to go black on those bucca bitches b/c they wouldn't seat us until the whole party was there and they were threatening to give away our table. but at least we all looked so hot. we eventually convinced them to seat us anyway and our waitress was AMAZING (we love you carin, and then pens and magnets you gave us!) and the food was like whoa. the boys did get there after a while and we all ate and were jolly. the only hitch almost came when we worked out a system for paying the bill and amanda started to bitch about how big carin's tip was going to be. i almost pimp smacked that ho, but decided against it. before dinner we were going to go dancing (as per the idea of the drunk guys who harassed us on our way out of the apartment) but we were all so full (shrimp pasta, pizza, spaghetti, and best of all garlic mashed potatoes for appetizer AND dessert) that we just wanted to go home and get naked.
we were supposed to go party with cher and co but we didn't make it down there. but never fear, she brought us some apple pie with whipped cream. god we love that girl. we watched some snl, got in our pj's, played some mario and went to bed. only not. the other boys went to sleep but we stayed up and gave lap dances, chang played samara and crawled out of the tv, and sam fucked with sean when he kept calling b/c he and raymond were drinking like whoa. in general, we were all sober drunk. we were so tired that we just got loopy. man, that was like the best part of the trip. kk got some good pics of all that nonsense. at around 3:30, things settled down and we all went to bed.
only problem was that we were getting up to leave at 5 am.
this concludes day 2.
that is all...thank you.

zim-zammed!
well i'm back in the big O after a whirlwind trip to MN to see chang and co. whoa nelly, that was a good time. but everyone keeps posting that you can read about our adventures in everyone else's blogs, but then none of us post anything so...you see wherein the trouble would lie. so i guess i'll remedy this.
thursday night i kept it low key with molly at her house. sam and kk went to peter jensen's party. word on the street was that the quality of the festivities was somewhat sub-par. but at least there was some liquor.
friday we were supposed to leave at 11 am but the kk overslept and forgot her purse and spilled a baby diet coke, so we didn't get on the road until noon or so. party foul.
so we got on the road and we're traveling along and the first thing sam says is "molly, your window is broken so you can't roll it down. if you do, it won't go back up." no big deal. so we roll along and listen to kickass music and cry a little when "the reason" comes on. (we got some great emo pics out of that one) the trip is so badass. we is havin fun.
we stopped somewhere in iowa to get foodies and the first thing molly did is accidentally roll down her window. ba-roken. luckily there was a menard's in the same parking lot as the wendy's (wtf?!) so she and kk went and got some clear duck tape and we went ghetto. ("hi, my name is molly and i broke the damn window") after some foul conversation and food we got back on the road.
we got to minneapolis at 7:00. (kk gets to lick molly nipples!) after some lounging with the boys of room 236 (jason, brian, adam, you guys rock!)we went to the pierce parlor where shyla (the coolest piercer ever) put some metal in chang, kk, and sam's nipples. kk and molly squealed and sammie and i did some deep breathing. chang used his magical asian powers to fight off the pain.
after molly finished part one of her tiff with mark we went back to the apartment and barricaded ourselves in chang and jason's room where we all proceeded to get naked and salt-soak. it was quality bonding time. somewhere in there we met chang's other girls, cher, gabby, and amanda, and cher fed us cake. mmmm cake. the perks of having a culinary student as a friend.
after a rousing game of grand theft auto vice city and chang's nipple bleeding all over the place, we all hit the sack like whoa. that concludes day one. most of the things i said probably sound strange out of context, but you like it that way, don't you? biatch.
fuck, all this typing has made me tired. i am going to go buy a pair of hot red heels now. i'll finish this later.
that is all...thank you.

okay, i think i've got things running smoothly now. i had to make a ton of adjustments to the original code i used to come up with what you're looking at. because i wish to see the fruits of my labors laid out in list form, i will now proceed to list my work for you.
1. all the colors are different. all of them.
2. i added side tables to accomodate all the whackiness i thought appropriate for my domain and retitled them to suit my evil needs.
3. i added REAL commenting things from Haloscan.
4. there was no code written in for my archives so i had to download another template and get the code from there.
5. i added in a whole fucking ton of cool shit.
now i know that most of you will say "wtf, mate, it's not like she really did shit anyway." but considering i didn't know anything about css tables and they require so much specificity and it took fucking forever to get it done, i feel a certain amount of pride. yes it is nerdcore pride. but pride nontheless.
so as you take a tour around, you will see the following:
1. islander of the week - one of you cool cats should be up there each week based on something badass you did. so keep your badass levels pretty high and you'll find your way up there.
2.quote of the week - we say so much funny shit, this will not be a problem.
3. island calendar - mainly up there for birthdays. but i'll try to put up as many of the public-invited shenanigans as i can. public-invited referring to those activities not restricted to invite only or secret birthday bashes. if you want something on the calendar, just leave a comment or shoot me an email and i'll get it up there.
4. on the tube - whatever my favorite movie or show is that week. may turn into what's playing at the midnight movie that week. as is the case with this week.
5. rockin the mic - whatever i'm listening to.
6. learning - whatever i'm reading.
7. island dwellers - links to all you cats and your websites. this has folks from both omaha and chicago. feel free to cross explore and get to know people from both my lives. if you want your link up there, post a comment or shoot me an email and i'll get it up there.
8. island favorites - places i roam. if you find something interesting, let me know.
9. i'm working on finding some code to add in pic/profile hoohah, so look for that soon.
so i think that's about it. editing html/css is fucking exhausting. i have a new appreciation for the people that sit around and do this for 20 hours a day. don't get me wrong, i wouldn't ever want to talk to them (see my concerns of 2 posts ago for explanation). but i still give them all webspace high-fives. they would do well in a nerdcore badassmin tournament.
looks like i'll be in bed before sunrise tonight. i'll explain the significance of that tomorrow. but for now, some AIMing and then bed.
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THE NEW LAYOUT. YOUR FEEDBACK WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED OR IRREVERENTLY IGNORED. DEPENDS ON HOW I FEEL.
that is all...thank you.
okay, i think i've got things running smoothly now. i had to make a ton of adjustments to the original code i used to come up with what you're looking at. because i wish to see the fruits of my labors laid out in list form, i will now proceed to list my work for you.
1. all the colors are different. all of them.
2. i added side tables to accomodate all the whackiness i thought appropriate for my domain and retitled them to suit my evil needs.
3. i added REAL commenting things from Haloscan.
4. there was no code written in for my archives so i had to download another template and get the code from there.
5. i added in a whole fucking ton of cool shit.
now i know that most of you will say "wtf, mate, it's not like she really did shit anyway." but considering i didn't know anything about css tables and they require so much specificity and it took fucking forever to get it done, i feel a certain amount of pride. yes it is nerdcore pride. but pride nontheless.
so as you take a tour around, you will see the following:
1. islander of the week - one of you cool cats should be up there each week based on something badass you did. so keep your badass levels pretty high and you'll find your way up there.
8. island favorites - places i roam. if you find something interesting, let me know.

as you can see, i've gone back to The Island and given the place a little facelift. i'm exceedingly proud of myself considerig that this is what the code was written to show.
but all this work has made me le tired. i will take a nap now and then fire the missiles...or come back and post again.

ackum.
i've accustomed myself to such an awkward schedule the past few days. get up at 1 or later. loaf around until 3. workout while watching dr.phil and oprah (i can't even defend that one). shower and prep for the evening. go out with sam, kk, garret, and molly. home at 4:30 the next morning and then to bed. rinse and repeat. an excellent schedule to accomodate the summer necessities but downright strange nonetheless. forthcoming employment notwithstanding, i think i could get used to this. of my adventures thus far, sample key words might include "arts and crafts," "shopping," "bear giving old man head," "liquors," "underage," "jailbait," and "questionable activities." feel free to read into these words as much as you like. let your imagination run wild. we did.
as most of you are well aware, i have been searching for a new look for the blog. i think i've found a couple of blogskins.com designs that could be of some service but i am still somewhat suspicious. these are people that post messages with things like " i lurrrrrvvvveee your skin!" and "cum up wif sumthin diffrnt," or "this iz gr8!" i hope you will agree that my concerns are warranted. in any event, expect something "diffrn" in the near future around these parts. i'm also considering going back to Get Off My Island. i don't know, i just feel a certain affinity for the original title. let me know your thoughts on the situation. and in general post comments more often fuckers.
the time for chang is almost nigh. i have a sneaking suspicion that we'd better not take any photos this weekend. should any of us obtain a significant level of celebrity, they may resurface to shed unwanted light on our current anonymity. and that really would not do. but more importantly, i feel that i would be remiss if i neglected to warn you that my shirts will be obscenely low cut this weekend. i've been absent from my normal jesuit party scene and i feel like my amout of cleavage has been considerably lower than it should be. this must be remedied. and soon.
in other more pretentious news, i think i am becoming a shopping addict. my current haunts include bakers (no, not the grocery store), gap, h&m, steve madden, walmart and target. a motley crue of retailers if i do say so myself. the only problem with this is that there are no steve madden stores in town. there is however a dsw and the jones store which feature his shoes, but they lack his best pedantic pursuits. i miss being able to catch the el or shuttle and drop in on the store at our downtown campus. although i bet that is significantly helping my wallet. not that i have much money at this juncture anyway.
fuck it. let me just take my crazy ass down to westroads.
that is all...thank you.
