^Aloha...you know it's disillusioning the way life works out. I was in semi-zombie "leave me alone people or I'll eat your brain" mode all weekend while I was in Hastings, and now that I'm home my stupid stupid overachieving brain won't shut up. Actually, I was in a very spicy mood this weekend. Thank goodness there were chaperones...RAR.

^So did anyone else notice how the sky cracked and leaked everywhere? (Which, I might add, could have waited and come on a day when we had school.) On the drive home from Hastings today I counted twelve vehicular miscalculations. People tried to pick a fight with nature and nature won...by a lot. I have to say, I don't appreciate all this snow business. It's a nuisance that only serves to add undue stress to my life and maybe lessen the sting of drought. But drought is the least of Taria's worries. On the list of "1 Google of Thinks (yes thinks) That Plague Taria's Mind," drought is down there with unironed blouses and massive attack on the world's supply of ash trays - which, mind you, is still higher than fear of the return of shag carpeting.

^ Speaking of Hastings, that was in fact this weekend. The past three days were a great lot of fun and though I hate to brag (or do I?) I think our host family was the best of all. Hell, they got us junk food and chocolate for Valentine's Day and we got to break into their house when they weren't home last night. Now, how many times will I get to have an experience like that? So far...twice.

^ But really, Hastings was a good time - except for the part where they told us the interstate had all but gone to Hell and our parents couldn't get through and we were going to have to spend another night in the semi-backwards odd-smelling unclean cave that is Hastings, NE for another night. I made aquaintances with some very very nice people this weekend. Those of you who know me pretty well can decipher that to mean that there were two guys who sat behind me who I would have loved to do terribly horribly wonderful things with...All in all, it was a great experience from which I returned having learned, grown, and retrieved 4 phone numbers, 6 emails and a lot of pleasant dreams.

^Hot damn, I think I can actually HEAR it snowing again. sigh.

^That is all...thank you.

Taria... yes, you called. I was reading Death of a Salesman upstairs and I guess my parents thought I was sleeping. I'll call you back... later.

Oh yes, and that flu? Not the flu - bronchitis. Nothing beats knowing you've shared infected food and drink with countless associates. I'm set for two weeks of anti-cough pills that make me feel floaty, several friends who may be sick in the coming days, and one (agonizing, if this cough doesn't improve) forensics tournament next Friday. Whee.

Until next time... well... you know the drill.

^Aloha! Oh man, there's nothing like a massive hangover and waking up naked next to an extremely attractive - also naked - man...

^ So I'm here in this secret location getting the chance to experience my fair share of college life. It's a lot like being in a documentary or one of those "behind closed doors" A&E specials; so far I've been present for a little partying and insider trader information on things like the order of general attractiveness of the frat houses, the walk of shame, the social hierarchy, who I can be seen with and who I can't, my status, and so on and so forth. Basically, I get all the behind the scenes, dirty, grity info. It can have a painful likeness to high school at times, minus the structure and supervision, and here most everybody gets along...so...I guess it's not really like high school at all. Thank you, Jesus. I appreciate this.

^ So naturally your next question is, "Gee, Taria, what's the deal with your status - are you popular..and...like...stuff?" Well, from all accounts, it seems as though I am excellent social standing. I might even go so far as to say that I am, indeed, popular. Everywhere I go I meet someone new that has heard all about me. There is a buzz attached to my name. Apparently it flies around going....buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuzzzzzzzzzz........
I don't know how I should feel about this. Should I feel special and hug my pillow at night knowing there are people in the world that love me? Should I don a low-cut shirt, jeans, clunky shoes and three tubes of masacara and dive head-first into heavy-hitting partying? Or should I just go to bed? Yeah...I think that's the one.

^That is all...thank you.

^Aloha! This message comes to you specially from a secretive location somewhere outside of Wet Jimmy's Assmeats.

^So I haven't blogged in a long long time. I would apologize, but then I'd have to type more...and ...well...you know how that goes.

^Jen, I'm going to make an indecent proposal to you...so remind me to do that the next time I see you.

^ In any event, consider this a blog entry. I know it is for the most part, incredibly incoherent and that you don't understand most of what I just said. That could be because I'm so incredibly inebriated at the moment....teeeheee....teeeheee...gotta practice if I'm ever gonna get that St. Anky's scholarship...hey P, will you write my recommendation?

^That is all...thank you

Sick again. This makes the third time in about a month. This one's the flu, I think. I've had a temperature off and on for the past three days and everything hurts... it's like my entire body has decided everyday operation has become a nuisance. I came home 6th hour for lunch and found out I had a temperature, so I didn't go back for World Religions... which turned out to be a good thing. While I was laying on the couch in a fever-stupor, the mail came. Reed wanted to talk to me... apparently, I'm in. So yes... I'm smiling... all is right with the world... or at least, it would be if I could stop coughing and if the monitor didn't waver and slide off to the left of my vision every now and then. Fluuu... need more pills...

until next time... see you on the other side.
